Historian - Genealogist - Writer - Storyteller

I regard myself first and foremost as a storyteller and collector. There are stories all around us. On every street you walk; in every building you pass; and within everyone you meet. My passion is to uncover those stories and share them.

Having spent many years involved in writing and in local history projects, 2019 is my year to delve back into my family history which has sat on the backburner for way too long. It’s been a 35 year journey of eureka moments, frustration, wonderful meetups and brick walls – and physical danger. I started researching in dungeons, climbing up ladders to retrieve huge tomes and then trying to read crossed-written letters. My biggest fear was being squashed in the compactus in the basement of Sydney’s Land Titles Office!

I have been thinking about the digitisation of all this research and found a genealogy website builder “The Next Generation”. This is perfect for my needs and creates a legacy for my children and grandchildren. When I fall off the perch I don’t want them looking at piles and piles of papers and folders and having no idea what to do with it all, so as long as they keep the website hosted, our family history will always be accessible. It is definitely a work in progress but one I know I will enjoy building on.

Testimonial:

I am a Petroleum Landman living and working in San Antonio, Texas. I was trying to find a couple of people who live in Australia but own a mineral interest here in Texas. I went on line and found a genealogist who lives in Australia. I found Chrissy Fletcher who told me she would be happy to help me locate the people I was trying to find. We made an agreement on line and the next thing I knew Chrissy had located the people for me and sent me their contact information!
I am very happy with her in every way. She is very professional.
Bob Christie,
Landman
